Domyo neckties actually have a long history, and research and development had already begun in the 1960s.
There were three steps in development. The first was a straight tie with a straight shape like a wide obi. I wondered if I could create a beautiful form for the necktie.
As the third step, we started assembling at Yasuda, and then added threads from the middle to gradually widen the width, resulting in the current shape. Adding threads in the middle requires precise calculations so that the pattern does not change.
Since then, we have produced all kinds of colors and patterns, such as those imitating the Shosoin Kumiobi and those inspired by Western paintings. In recent years, designs with square ends that are easy to match with casual outfits have also appeared.

DOMYO’s tie has a long history, in the 1960s we had already begun research and development.

We wondered how we could form more beautiful shapes of ties, and then we tried assembling two braids in one piece, first by Ichimaikourai and switched to Anda in the middle, so that the width became wider. As the third step, we started braiding in Anda, added threads from the middle, and gradually widened the width. Thus, we finally completed the definition of the current shape of DOMYO's tie. Adding threads on the way requires precise calculation so that the pattern does not change.
Since then, we have produced many colors and patterns, such as the imitations of the belts kept in Shosoin and those that image Western paintings. In recent years, a design with a square-shaped end that is easy to match with casual clothes has also appeared.
