The Saidaiji-gumi is a string that was attached to the brocade bag that wrapped the sutras in the head of the statue of Shaka Nyorai in Saidaiji (Nara).
Domyo investigated and researched this cord and restored it.
The string of the sutra-wrapped nishikibukuro from the Kamakura period has been improved to make it easier to tighten as a modern obi.
It is an obijime that requires a very high level of skill and production time.
Size Length: about 155cm Width: about 1.0cm Thickness: about 5mm
Material: 100% silk
made in Japan
Domyo braids and obijime are hand-dyed and hand-assembled one by one, so there may be slight differences in color and braid.
In the case of danzome or gradation dyeing, the part that appears in the knot varies depending on the body shape and the thickness of the obi to be matched.
